Liberty, Utah
Liberty, UT is located in the northern end of the Ogden Valley. Perhaps the most beautiful mountains in the area, Ben Lomond and Willard Peaks are reputed to have the highest moisture levels in northern Utah. Obvious in the winter, when snow levels are substantially higher than in most if not all other areas of the Ogden Valley. There is a very different feel to living in Liberty. Although only a few minutes north of Eden, one feels the rural flavor. The people are less transient, with the exception of people coming and going to North Fork Park, a true recreational gem of the Ogden Valley. Liberty is fortunate in many ways, of not being on the major path to either Snowbasin or Powder Mountain, it’s more isolated. Avon Divide could change that, if the Divide Rd. ever gets the approvals for access to the Ogden Valley by Cache Valley Residents and tourists from the north. In the meantime, Liberty has a quiet, “salt of the earth” rural lifestyle.
North Fork Park is one of the premier cross country skiing destinations in northern Utah. There are 20 km of trails, groomed several times per week for skating and classic skiing by a fantastic group of volunteers. Other activities include camping, picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, photography, backcountry skiing, snowshoeing and more, at this amazing, large, Weber Co. Park.
